Well, just as we thought life was getting back to relatively normal, Queenslanders were hit with another curveball on Monday. It’s a fresh reminder of how quickly circumstances can change and how adaptable we need to be these days, not just in business but in all aspects of our lives.
In times of uncertainty, it’s important we remember to be kind and understanding to others around us. Compassion is one of our greatest assets and we should exercise it as frequently as possible. We at the CBWC will always follow the directives of the Queensland Government and Queensland Health and we put our trust in those who’s knowledge and expertise far outweigh ours!
Whilst we may be back to uncertain times, the CBWC is still dedicated to supporting local businesses through our regular networking events, and creating connections through platforms such as our members only Facebook group. If you’re not a part of our online community yet, you can request to join here [https://www.facebook.com/groups/301167371020136].
Our new board members have also settled nicely into their new roles and have hit the ground running! If you’d like to get in contact with any of them directly, you can find their contact information below; we always want to hear your feedback and suggestions for the club.
We also have the CBWC Businesswoman of the Year Awards just around the corner, and we are once again reminded of the calibre of successful businesswomen in Cairns and the Far North.
After having to postpone the event in 2020, we are thrilled to have received over 110 nominations to go ahead with this year’s event!
If you’ve never been to one of our awards nights, they are LOADS of fun! Besides getting to dress up fancy, eat a delicious 3 course meal and enjoy a drinks package, you get to be surrounded with great people and dance the night away!
If you’d like to join us, you can get your tickets below.
Stay safe, stay compassionate and most of all, stay positive!
We look forward to seeing you all again very soon.

Our night of nights is finally here!
After missing out in 2020, we are so excited to be able to celebrate the brilliant work of some fabulous women in the far north.
This year we’re channeling the 1920’s with a speakeasy theme!
Speakeasy’s were secret bars in which people gathered to drink together in the prohibition. All kinds of people came together to celebrate and have a good time.
Dress up in old Hollywood glamour or channel your inner flapper!
We’re celebrating 8 categories in 2021:
Businesswoman of the Year
Indigenous Businesswoman of the Year
Partnership of the Year
Small Business Owner
Michelle Commins Volunteer of the Year
Join us for a 3 course meal catered by the amazingly talented Ochre Restaurant plus a drinks package for the duration of the night.
Tickets are $180 per person, or why not get a group of 10 together and save!

On top of the annual sponsorships we also offer event sponsorships for our individual events such as our lunches and Business & Bubbles
These partnerships are also highly beneficial to your business as your logo will feature on our website, socials, newsletters, event presentations and more.
We think partnering with us is a win win! If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, please let us know.
