Krista Watkins

Krista Watkins is a leader in agricultural innovation and the co-founder and Managing Director of Natural Evolution, a company specializing in end-to-end solutions for excess fresh produce. Krista is an advocate for innovation and disruption, and passionate about reinvigorating the Australian Food manufacturing industry. Krista’s interest in reducing waste and finding uses for unsaleable produce led to the development of Natural Evolution in 2015. Following tireless work and research, she and partner Rob built the world’s first pharmaceutical grade green banana processing facility and pioneered the process of turning produce into functional foods and cosmetics. The business has experienced remarkable growth, expanding into international markets and winning sustainability and innovation awards in Australia and overseas. Krista’s efforts have earned her the prestigious AgriFutures Rural Woman of the Year 2018, EY’s 2019 QLD Disruption Entrepreneur of the Year and a Gold Edison Innovation Award for Food and Beverage 2017. “Walk the path of the fearless warrior, it will lead you to your dreams.”

Kim Siegmann

Kim has served on the CBWC Board in 2021 as a general Board Member. Prior to this she had, 10 years being heavily involved in local swimming clubs. She was a committee member and President of the Stingrays Swimming Club, a committee member for TAS Swimming and Secretary of the FNQ Regional Swimming Association for 5 years. She has also been actively involved in the dance community for 13 years – volunteering at multiple events; and an active participant and volunteer for the Cairns Ironman. Kim has a passion for locals and the development of local clubs, so you know she will be dedicated to the growth of the CBWC. Kim, along with her husband has owned multiple businesses in Cairns since 1992 employing over 1000 staff across the region. Her current business Cairns Car Brokers has been recognised as the most trusted Motor Dealer in Far North Queensland for the past four years due to their focus on customer service, value and above all trust. Her vast array of skills pertaining to accounting, marketing and legal administration will make her an excellent addition to the CBWC board.

Kearley Dent

Kearley Dent is a passionate local Cairns businesswoman for over 12 years and recognised for her outstanding efforts in the business community and volunteering in the wider Cairns community including on the management committee of a junior basketball club for 14 years. Kearley has established a reputation as an expert in the floral industry. Kearley continues to have a long involvement with the CBWC, attending lunches for 10 years, been a member for 9 years, a finalist in the CBWC Awards and a corporate partner for 8 years.

Jenni Kingsbury

Jenni Kingsbury, General Manager, Totally Workwear Cairns. My professional experience of 19+ years is grounded in customer service, reception and administration, bookkeeping and now management. I have also been solely responsible for Totally Workwear’s Quality Safety & Environmental Management Systems compliance and certification for over seven years. I am currently one subject away from completing a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. My key strengths include organisation, accuracy and attention to detail, being solution-driven and a great team player. Beyond work I am a mum of two beautiful girls, passionate about mental health and wellbeing, and my creative outlet is Latin and ballroom dancing!

Paula Cotterill

Having moved from the Fraser Coast to Douglas Shire in 1994, Paula Cotterill is fortunate to call FNQ home for the past 27 years. Paula brings to the board twenty years’ experience working in the corporate sector at senior levels across several disciplines including; law, tourism, hospitality, construction & banking. With her career spanning from Papua New Guinea, the Cassowary Coast, Tablelands, Douglas Shire and Cairns region, Paula’s exposure to various industries throughout differing communities, provides her a strong understanding of how to navigate her way around a business. In particular, what it takes to overcome hardships caused from things such as the global financial crisis and more recently the COVID-19 pandemic. As General Manager of WGC Lawyers, Paula is a progressive, confident, collaborative team leader and participant, who attains exceptional operational and performance goals. It’s not all work and no play. In her spare time Paula enjoys spending time with her teenage sons and friends, making the most of life in paradise, with frequent trips to SEQ to visit extended family.

Hannah Boon

With 10 years experience in the creative arts advertising industry, Hannah has worked with various businesses from start-ups to corporate entities, utilising her skills in graphic design, social media marketing, websites, video production and general marketing. Currently Hannah holds the position of President for the newly chartered Rotary Cairns Northern Beaches Club and volunteers in other community organisations. Not only has Hannah built experience and knowledge within the creative industry, she is Far North Queensland raised. With her experience and local upbringing, Hannah understands the culture and community that Cairns and it’s beautiful surroundings bring. Hannah is passionate about building client relationships and bringing a personal touch across in her work, to achieve something special for those she works with.

Janet McIntyre

“With several years’ experience as the Program Manager for Self-Employment Assistance (previously New Business Assistance), Janet is passionate about assisting others to establish and grow a business start-up or to strengthen and refocus the direction in an existing business. Her commitment to helping others turn their dream into a reality, has seen her assist over 1500 participants to commence into their own small business over the past six years. Janet collaborates with trusted stakeholders in the local small business eco-systems to ensure there is a myriad of support available to her participants, enabling them to achieve financial and commercial viability and sustainable long-term business growth. She is also an advocate for Mental Health and developed the Mental Health suite of policies for My Pathway as well as being a Mental Health First Aid Officer herself. She has volunteered at her children’s sporting clubs for many years and also volunteered at a local food bank in Cairns, as part of a school program initiative in one of her previous roles.”

Claire Howells

With a wealth of experience in the food, beverage and events industry, Claire, owner of Claire Victoria Wedding Design specializes in event planning, stationery and styling. Her event planning skills started at a very young age, supporting her family implementing non-for-profit events in the UK. She continued this through further years working in food & beverage management positions, BDE & wedding and events planning for businesses in the Cairns region. Holding a BA (Hons) in Decorative Arts, Claire’s vision for the events and weddings Industry is to create events and spaces that are uniquely beautiful and that her clients will love! She carries with her sustainable practices, support of local businesses and is passionate about helping and assisting women in all walks of business and on all personal levels. Claire has been a committee member of the International gastronomique food group La Chaine des Rotisseurs for the past 5 years enjoying her position as Vice Chancelier (Secretary). She is a returning member to CBWC and is proud to become a member of the 2021 board and looks forward to working together with all members of CBWC.

Christine Foudoulis

Christine Foudoulis is the Director of Superior Recruitment Cairns, a specialist recruitment agency, focused on quality outcomes for businesses and job seekers. She grew up in small business and graduated with a double degree in Law and Arts (majoring in sociology), from the ANU. Briefly working in Federal Government, she craved more human and social interaction, and found her true career calling in the recruitment industry. Christine’s background spanning 15 years+ includes holding positions in large, global recruitment firms in Sydney, as well as boutique agency, where she has managed small teams, as well as built and grown new business portfolios. Her recruitment expertise covers a range of sectors and skill levels, receiving awards for her recruitment excellence. Falling in love with Cairns whilst visiting on maternity leave in 2013, she considers herself a Cairns local. When not working, you will often find Christine being active outdoors with her family or enjoying a coffee at her one of her favourite cafes. Christine joined the CBWC Board as their Corporate Governance Officer and is looking forward to her Board involvement, and contribution to the Cairns business community.
